Free laser cut files: tools and sample projects

Tools and projects you can cut on your own laser. Download the file, import it into your laser software and cut it from a scrap of sheet material.

Check the size after importing. Some programs scale a file on import, and a scaled gauge measures the wrong distance. The .ai files open in Adobe Illustrator and import directly into LightBurn; the .svg imports into most laser software.

Focus height tools

A focus tool sets the distance between the nozzle and the material, which puts the focal point of the lens where it belongs. Stand the tool on the material, let the nozzle rest on it at your focus height, and lock the lens shaft.

The right height depends on the lens. If you do not know it, or the result looks off, measure it: finding true focus with a ramp test.

Kerf gauge

Designed by Nameek and Elplatt, and the gauge we use at BRM Lasers. The original is on Thingiverse; the file below is our hosted copy.

On a BRM machine
