Problems and solutions
Co2 Machines
Adjust and replace belts of the X- and Y-axes of the BRM Original. A BRM Laser has 3 timing belts that need to be checked regularly and tensioned if necessary. There are 2 Y-axis belts and 1 X-axis belt. The Y-axis belts are located to the left and right of the work area. The X-axis belt is located on the bridge, from left to right and starts and ends at the laser head.
> Help, I have a double line in my cutting and engraving. When you are cutting or engraving, you may see a second line appear making the exact same shape but just slightly off. When cutting, one line is often a bit thinner and still goes into your material. The second line is often a bit wider and only leaves a superficial trace.
> Machine protected error on the BRM Slim. When the Machine Protected error appears on the machine's display, you cannot move the axes or continue working with the machine. The error must be resolved before you can continue.
> Potential error messages on the machine. Error messages are never convenient, see here how to resolve which error.
> Shapes do not connect. You have loaded in the machine a drawing with for example circles. After the machine finishes cutting, you see that the start and end points of the cutting line do not match.
> The laser head of my BRM Original is no longer perpendicular. If you have had a collision between the laser head and your material, this may have happened with a lot of force. Because of this it is possible that the laser head is no longer completely perpendicular. If the head is not completely perpendicular, it can affect your cutting and engraving results. For example, you will have less power or a shadow line will appear, a second line next to your cutting or engraving line.
> The laser head of my BRM Pro is not at a 90° angle any more If you have had a collision between the laser head and your material, this may have happened with a lot of force. Because of this it is possible that the laser head is no longer completely perpendicular. If the head is not completely perpendicular, it can affect your cutting and engraving results. For example, you will have less power or a shadow line will appear, a second line next to your cutting or engraving line.
> The machine has problems with referencing. When you turn on the machine, the machine should be referenced. The X and Y axes then go to the upper right corner and the table also goes to the 0 position. The axes then move toward a sensor. When the axes are at the sensor, the axes know where their zero point is. From this zero point, the machine knows where the limit is and where the axis must stop to avoid collisions with the body of the machine.
> The Red Pointer of my BRM Original is no longer visible. If you have a BRM Original then chances are you have a Red Pointer. The Red Pointer allows you to see a guide line which can be useful when you want an indication of approximately where you are going to cut or engrave.
> The Y-axis of my BRM Budget does not work The Y-axis of my BRM Budget does not work
> The Y axis of my BRM Original is not working. If the Y axis of your BRM Original is not working there could be a couple of things going on. When you start the machine then press the reset button on the switch panel. The axes now drive to the right rear of the machine. After the machine does the reset the red alarm light goes out.
> The Y axis of my BRM Pro is not working. The Y axis of my BRM Pro is not working.
> The Y axis of my BRM Slim is not working. The Y axis of my BRM Slim is not working.
> The Z axis of the BRM Original is not working. If the Z axis of the BRM Original no longer works that there are a number of things you could check yourself.
> There are vibrations in the engraving lines. Often vibrations in an engraving occur in the first and last part of the complete engraving. Vibration may also be present at the beginning of the engraving line.
> I don't have a laser beam. If you are not getting a laser beam on your material, there could be a number of things going on.
> There is an offset in the cutting or engraving line. When you are cutting something the line may suddenly jump a little bit. Suppose you are cutting a square and suddenly the horizontal line (X-axis) jumps a little bit. Then there is a problem in the Y-axis. The same is true in reverse, if there is a stagger in the vertical line (Y-axis) then there is a problem on the X-axis.
> Metallaser
How to connect oxygen to the BRM90130-X or the BRM Budget90130-X. A 150 W laser source by itself does not have enough power to cut through metals. By adding oxygen you feed the fire allowing you to put enough power into the material and cut.
> What metals can I cut with my BRM90130-X or BRM Budget90130-X? I have a the BRM90130-X or a budget90130-X and I would like to know if I can cut certain metals. Please note that the machine must be suitable for cutting metal! If the machine is not suitable for cutting metal and you try to do it anyway, the machine may break down.
